Located in the UBC Botanical Garden, the Greenheart Treewalk offers a bird’s-eye view of Vancouver’s coastal temperate rainforest. The 310-metre-long aerial trail system hangs from huge Douglas firs, cedars and grand firs, allowing visitors to walk from platform to platform in the canopy. Take in the towering view at the peak, 23 metres above the forest floor!
Unlike other treetop canopy walkway systems bolted into the trees, the Greenheart TreeWalk’s design and engineering does not damage the trees or the surrounding delicate ecosystem. Using an innovative cable tension system, the platforms are hung from the trees without the use of nails or bolts. With these unique features, it is easy to see how the walkway is a special addition to the forest landscape!
